Carbon and graphite materials are non-metallic solid materials mainly composed of carbon elements. Carbon materials are mainly composed of non graphitic carbon, while graphite materials are mainly composed of graphitic carbon. Not only graphite, but also all carbon containing materials including diamond, fullerene, and carbene are called carbon materials.
